Red Brass Tube 85/15

Alloys that are immune to dezincification are also named as DR Alloys or DZR Alloys. These alloys (i.e. Red brass) have a small amount of arsenic added to it. Owing to the introduction of this arsenic, our manufactured Red brass tubes stops chlorinated water from leaching zinc from the plumbing products because of the presence of this arsenic, which if not stopped would inevitably lead to the destruction and cracking of the plumbing products.

Owing to its high copper content, the copper develops a defensive oxide coating on the red brass surface and is therefore extremely corrosion resistant. Our Red brass tube is often used for underground service lines because it provides strong resistance to corrosion in all forms of potable water and has reasonable strength and outstanding retention of spring properties.

The red brass has a lower melting point relative to other materials for construction thus it can be easily cast in different forms and have a high machinability rate. It has moderate tensile and shear strength that can withstand stress particularly when it is used to create tubes. Though it is less strong than other materials, it can be easily shaped in different desirable shapes without compromising its efficiency.

Red brass is commonly used as materials for nipples for carrying water, low-cost bearing materials, plumbing like fittings, pipelines, and pipe service lines, OEM applications, etc. It can also be used as a material for nuts, bolts and thread parts that are used in other equipment.
